Our Team

Our Director and Principals have more than 60 years of combined experience across traffic and transport consulting, engineering, management, enterprise architecture, intelligent transport systems (ITS), information and communications technology, and infrastructure planning, design and delivery.

We have extensive expertise in strategising, planning, developing, implementing and maintaining road transport infrastructure, ITS, transport operational systems and information technology. Our staff have led initiatives across strategy and innovation, enterprise architecture, business cases, research, program and portfolio planning, project development, project planning, project delivery, business transformation, procurement, supplier and contract management, systems operations, governance frameworks, and professional practice methodologies.

These areas are complemented by our breadth of experience across transport management including land use and transport modelling, traffic modelling, route studies, road and transport network management, operating strategies, road safety, disaster planning, and major event planning and operations.

We are certified practitioners of PRINCE2, Managing Successful Programs, Management of Portfolios, ITIL V3 and TOGAF 9.1.

David Yee

Managing Director

David is TMC's Managing Director, and is an outcomes-focused professional engineer and executive, bringing more than 20 years’ extensive experience spanning Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), Information and Communications Technology (ICT), road network and transport infrastructure planning and operations, and transport management and engineering. He holds a Masters of Engineering Science (Engineering Management and Transport), and also a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Hons.), is completing a Master of Data Analytics, and holds numerous professional certifications.

Throughout his career, David has successfully delivered a number of multi-million dollar, multi-year programs of IT and ITS technology and change initiatives into transport organisations. He has established, managed professional technical practices in traffic and transport engineering, Enterprise Architecture, ITS and ICT portfolio and program management, transport operations, as well as led business improvement and change management initiatives. David also has experience across planning, development and delivery of major transport infrastructure projects.

David provides excellence in strategic planning, technical problem solving skills, stakeholder engagement, assurance, advisory, along with a proven record of success across the transport and technology domains. He is a recognised expert in the application of Enterprise Architecture approaches and frameworks to traffic and transport management, and ITS domains, and was a key driver and influencer of the development and application of Austroads’ National ITS Architecture Framework. He has a passion for improving performance and realising transport outcomes using innovative approaches and solutions.

Samantha Yee

Principal and Quality Manager

Samantha is a professional engineer, technical writer, editor and publisher, with a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, postgraduate degree in technology management and degree in publishing and editing. She has over 20 years of experience as a professional engineer. Her extensive involvement spans Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), Information and Communications Technology (ICT), road safety and traffic engineering, vehicle standards, bridge and rail engineering.

Samantha has also had experience in quality assurance, project management and the development and presentation of guidelines, policies and procedures. Her experience in technical editing, publishing and quality management are combined with excellent communications and consultation skills.

Wije Ariyaratne

Principal

Wije is a recognised international expert with nearly five decades of engineering, including 20 years in senior executive roles associated with bridges and structures at the NSW Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) and Roads & Traffic Authority (RTA). He has both a Masters degree and Bachelor's degree in civil engineering degree. Wije also has an esteemed academic career and is Deputy Head of Civil Engineering at the University of Sydney. He is well known nationally and internationally as an industry expert in bridges and major transport infrastructure.

Wije has earned international standing by challenging old ways of thinking and pioneering new design techniques and maintenance innovations. Most recently, this led to him winning the NSW prestigious Premier’s Award for ‘Infrastructure Delivery’.

Michael Watts

Senior Consultant

Michael is a customer-focused and commercially oriented professional engineer with more than three decades of expertise in ITS, Information Communications Technology (ICT), road network and transport infrastructure planning, implementation and delivery, and transport management and engineering.

Michael possesses a wealth of experience in managing and leading professional services and project teams across strategic and tactical initiatives. He combines his excellent communication skills and expertise in stakeholder management, with a focus on customer satisfaction and business outcomes. Michael's expert knowledge spans the full ITS market with established relationships with suppliers and industry players in the broader transport industry.
